Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants €50m deal Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is willing to secure a surprise transfer for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele this summer, as per Catalan outlet El Nacional.

The French winger signed a two-year deal in the summer of 2022 and made sure that his release clause of €100million was halved between the months of June and July 2023.

This is the amount that Klopp wants to spend on signing Dembele, who is considered ‘untouchable’ by Barcelona. He is also heavily favoured by manager Xavi Hernandez.

If Dembele doesn’t sign a new deal with Barca soon, they could lose him for nothing at the end of next season and that would be a nightmare scenario for them. The 25-year-old is one of the very best players in his age group.

A brilliant move for Liverpool

For Liverpool, it could be a chance to sign a world-class attacker who can succeed Mohamed Salah, who turns 31 in June, in the long run. Dembele has enough quality to start games for the Reds from day 1.

He can play down either flank. But it will be interesting to see if Luis Diaz will be benched in the event of the former Borussia Dortmund winger’s arrival.

Given the aforementioned release clause placed on Ousmane Dembele, one can imagine that other clubs will also take notice. If Liverpool are successful in signing the French winger, then it would be one of the finest signings on paper in the club’s recent history.

Dembele’s dribbling, ability to play with both feet, playmaking capabilities and pace off the blocks make him one of the best players around. It will be an honour watching a star like him don Liverpool red.
