Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool have offered Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister ‘important’ contract
Fabrizio Romano has provided a positive update for Liverpool fans in the club’s pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
The transfer expert claims, in words given to GiveMeSport, that the Reds met with the 24-year-old and offered him a contract. He said:
“They have a chance for sure. They had conversations with Mac Allister. It was a concrete conversation, they offered an important contract. They discussed about the project so they presented their project to Mac Allister.”
The hype surrounding Mac Allister has boomed after Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup win. Many took note of his performances in Qatar and Liverpool seem to be one of them.
Must get this done
It would have obvisouly been a better scenario had we paid more attention to him before the World Cup. Undoubtedly we could have had him for cheaper, considering the Reds could have to pay somewhere around 70million Pounds to sign him now.
That is big money no matter the player or the club involved. It seems that the Reds’ desperation to sign a new midfielder is leading them to Brighton’s doors.
And Mac Allister is by no means a bad option. He has the skill set to succeed as a midfielder in a big six club in and out of possession both. Moreover, we are going to lose Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for free this summer.
We need quality additions and Mac Allister’s move to Anfield could be a smart one for everyone involved. Brighton will pocket a big sum, Liverpool will get themselves a classy midfielder approaching his prime.
