PSG hold talks with Liverpool transfer target Kim Min-jae ahead of summer transfer window

According to RMC Sport, French champions PSG are in talks with Liverpool target Kim Min-jae ahead of a potential summer switch.

The Napoli defender has been one of Luciano Spalletti’s best players this season. A colossus at the back, Min-jae played a key role in Napoli’s first Scudetto since the Diego Maradona days.

Min-jae’s consistency at centre-back has attracted attention from several big teams as we head into the summer transfer window. Paris Saint-Germain are one of those sides and have now opened talks with the player.

Luis Campos, the football advisor for PSG is a big fan of the 26-year-old South Korean and appears to be pushing for his signature. The Fench giants have already agreed a deal for another Serie A star, Milan Skriniar as a new look backline takes shape.

Campos met with Min-jae’s agent but an agreement has not been reached. The player, for his part, is partial to the Premier League and that could give us a chance to beating PSG to the punch. However, it is not easy with Manchester United also interested

While the midfield remains our priority next summer, the defence could do with an addition as well. Joel Matip has been linked with an exit while Joe Gomez has also struggled for form. Add to it Ibrahima Konate’s injuries and Virgil van Dijk’s drop off and it is clear that signing another centre-back would be helpful.

Strong on the ball and aerially good, Min-jae is in his prime and has all the assets needed to thrive at the back at Anfield. After all, he seamlessly replaced Kalidou Koulibaly at Napoli, and that speaks volumes of his ability.
