“Let’s see what we can do”- Jurgen Klopp gives verdict on Liverpool qualifying for Europa League

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confident of UEFA Europa League campaign next season

Even though Liverpool are not mathematically out of the race for a UEFA Champions League spot for next season, it would take a huge task for Manchester United to lose both of their remaining games and open the door for Jurgen Klopp and Co. to progress through to the UCL.

The German gaffer has already embraced the possibility of playing in the Europa League next season, and with a lesser number of games, the Reds could certainly focus on getting their strategies right for the league campaign and ensure the best possible finish domestically.

Moreover, Jurgen Klopp showed confidence that the next Liverpool rebuild will not stand ruined by Europa League and the Reds would not leave any stone unturned to make the best of this transition phase.

Speaking on his approach to the Europa League, here is what Klopp had to say via The Athletic:

“We will make it our competition. I am not that spoilt. For so long we couldn’t even hear the sound of the Champions League, that’s how far away we were. The Europa League is absolutely fine. Let’s see what we can do.”

Run it back to the 2016-17 campaign where Antonio Conte led Chelsea to a Premier League title without the pressure of playing European football that season. Hopefully, the Reds can do something on those lines after playing at the top of their games consistently for about six-seven years now.

UEL return for the Reds after a while

The opportunity to play in the UEL will stand extremely beneficial for the youngsters of the squad who would totally love to get more minutes with the first team before we get back on track for the season after the next wherein we hopefully qualify for the UCL.

Hopefully, the Reds get their transfer business sorted out early in the season and get a full squad ready for the pre-season tour and get going all guns blazing in the league from the get-go.

A good summer break and a well-planned pre-season by Klopp will be beneficial. The addition of new players will also help. The goal would remain to make sure Liverpool stand prepared and can quickly return to the top European competitions.

Liverpool should have gotten their winning streak started much earlier in the season, but the position we find ourselves in is totally our own fault and there is only so much we can do about it apart from focusing on the next immediate game.
