Harvey Elliott confident of Liverpool ‘comeback’ next season
It is no secret that Liverpool Football Club has had a substandard season this campaign and everyone had expectations greater than their performances this season. Anfield has to gear up for Europa League nights for the following season in case Manchester United do not lose all their remaining games.
Speaking to the club’s official website ahead of our final game this season, the Reds’ starlet Harvey Elliott spoke about how the break will be all about recovery and getting back to usual levels starting next season.
“We just need to focus on the last game, make sure we go out with a bang and make ourselves ready in the off-season. I know some of the lads have internationals as well.”
“It’s all about resting, recover, but at the same time we need to come back firing. We will come back firing, I can sense it with the lads and with the fans as well. We will be back for sure.”
Liverpool’s European fortunes depend on two of Manchester United’s results. In case they win or draw even one of their remaining two games, the Merseysiders will have to embrace the opportunity of playing in the Europa League next season.
Make or Break for the Reds
However, Harvey sounds rather optimistic about our chances next season, irrespective of the European competition we find ourselves in. And that should be the case. Anyhow, the Europa League is the only trophy we are yet to win under Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds need midfield reinforcements next season, and hopefully, with a number of players joining the club, we can return back to where we actually belong on the Premier League table, which is right at the top. Hopefully, Harvey is right, and Liverpool challenge for all the trophies we are in next year.
As the curtain falls on this challenging season, Liverpool will reflect on the lessons learned and use them as a foundation for future success. Elliott’s confidence in his teammates and the club’s supporters further underscores Liverpool’s determination to rise above this challenging period.
While the season may not have unfolded as Liverpool had wanted to, there is much reason for optimism. The disappointment of potentially missing out on the Champions League will serve as motivation for the team to come back stronger, hungrier, and more determined than ever.
