“God decides”- In-demand Premier League ace opens up on future amidst Liverpool interest

Moises Caicedo breaks silence on his future amid Liverpool links

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo has addressed speculation about his future, acknowledging the interest surrounding him after his impressive performances for the Seagulls.

Liverpool already bolstered their midfield with the acquisitions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, now see themselves loosely linked with a potential move for Caicedo

. However, when asked about the possibility of a move, here is what he told 90Min via ECHO:

“It’s a very great emotion,”

“What guy wouldn’t want them to be talking about him?

“I know how to handle it. I don’t get carried away by emotions. I’m enjoying time with my family for now. There is pressure, but I am calm. I am waiting for whatever God decides. He will know what is best for me.”

While Liverpool see themselves mentioned as a potential destination for Caicedo, the transfer could remain hampered by Brighton’s asking price. The Seagulls are likely to demand a substantial fee for their highly-rated midfielder, which could prove too expensive for Liverpool, especially considering their previous investments in the current transfer window.

The Telegraph has reported that Brighton are planning to demand more than £100m for Caicedo and that could surely prove to be too much to handle for the Reds. Liverpool’s cautious approach to spending and their commitment to maintaining financial stability could limit their ability to meet Brighton’s demands for the 21-year-old Ecuador international.

Are Brighton’s demands too much for the Reds?

The club must carefully assess their budget and prioritise their transfer targets to ensure that their squad is well-balanced and financially sustainable. It does not make sense for us to pay beyond the means in case a player is overpriced. But it is also no excuse for us to not strengthen this summer given where we re at.

The club’s ultimate goal is to make strategic decisions that align with their long-term vision and strengthen the squad in a sustainable manner instead of splurging out big money as if we have a cash cow sitting at Anfield.

£100m is probably too much to ask, even for a player who has the ceiling of Caicedo. It would surely be wise of Liverpool to look at other players who could join the Reds at a lower price and offer the same skillset as that of the Ecuadorian.

Hopefully, Liverpool contribute whatever funds they have towards getting on board another midfielder who fits into our budget and leaves enough for the Reds to explore options to improve the defensive unit as well.
