Barcelona have seemingly been joined Real Sociedad and Sevilla in the race for Liverpool superstar Thiago Alcantara.
The Spanish midfielder has been linked with a move to the Catalan giants in recent weeks, where he spent several years before moving to Bayern Munich a decade ago.
Now, Fichajes.net claim that Sevilla and Real Sociedad are also interested in him. With all due respect to the two new La Liga entrants, Liverpool and Barca have a different aura about them.
They consistently challenge (or at least aim to challenge) for the biggest prizes in football. Their history is littered with trophies left, right and centre. Not to mention, their fanbases are global and hardly matched by another club.
But Liverpool have a decision to make. Thiago is 32 years old and has had his fair share of injury issues since joining us from Bayern in 2020.
The Spanish superstar is also in the last year of his contract. Selling him right now could help us recoup some money and invest it elsewhere.
But this is where the dilemma arises. Many would argue that keeping Thiago here even for just one more season would be worth more than what we may get for him.
On his day, he is one of the most complete midfielders in world football. There are hardly any holes in his armour and he is an asset to have in the middle of the park.
With Jordan Henderson and Fabinho Tavares’ futures in serious doubt, coupled with Naby Keita
, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner’s exits, selling Thiago would only raise our headaches. Keep, no matter what offer comes in.Saudi plan a mega move for Liverpool custodian Alisson Becker Alisson Becker, whose deal with…
