Liverpool reignite interest in Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch
Premier League giants Liverpool remain interested in signing Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in the ongoing summer transfer window.
That is according to SPORT BILD via ECHO. Manager Jurgen Klopp is pushing for the move, as the Dutch midfielder has struggled to get regular playing time in Bavaria. Gravenberch joined Bayern from Ajax last summer but faced competition from Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka for a spot in the starting lineup.
He played 33 times across all competitions but only started in five of those matches. Although Liverpool remain keen on signing Gravenberch, Bayern hold the power to decide whether a deal can come into the picture or if the 21-year-old can leave. The Bavarian club has shown interest in keeping Gravenberch and insists that he is not for sale. However, the Reds have held positive discussions with Gravenberch’s representatives, and his agent was even spotted at Anfield.
Liverpool’s interest in Gravenberch comes as they find themselves short on midfielders heading into the new campaign. The recent departures of the likes of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have further put the Reds in a dicey situation, wherein they have to get on board new players to remain competitive going forward.
Gravenberch to the Reds?
Us being in such a situation wherein one midfield injury could tamper our whole season is surely not ideal. We need to bring in midfield reinforcements and more than just one. Gravenberch’s skills and potential fit seamlessly with the kind of player Klopp has historically nurtured and taken them towards the next level.
Yet, the road to securing Gravenberch’s signature is paved with uncertainties. Bayern hold the entire power in this scenario and given Gravenberch’s long-term contract there as well, it makes things all the more tough for the Reds.
The potential addition of the young Dutch midfielder could inject a sense of fresh dynamism into Liverpool’s midfield setup.

At this point, maybe Jurgen Klopp could start a GoFundMe for the fans to help him out with transfer proceedings. The owners are not showing enough interest after the only two summer signings so far, and that is surely not enough for the Reds to compete.
