Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants Real Madrid midfielder and Liverpool-linked Aurelien Tchouameni
Real Madrid star and Liverpool-linked Aurelien Tchouameni is being eyed by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, according to Sport (h/t Mirror).
The former Ajax Amsterdam head coach has put in a ‘request’ to get a hold of the midfielder’s signature this summer. To that end, the Red Devils are considering making a move for the France international.
Ten Hag likes the 23-year-old a lot and would be pleased if the Old Trafford side were able to acquire his services in the ongoing transfer window. As things stand, the Manchester-based club could make an offer similar to what the Spanish outfit paid for the former AS Monaco star.
Los Blancos signed Tchouameni from the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer of 2022 for €80 million. The midfielder was seemingly a replacement for Casemiro, who parted ways with the Santiago Bernabeu outfit for Man United.
The French national was crucial to Carlo Ancelotti’s plans initially at Madrid. However, after the 2022 World Cup, his performances dipped and the youngster found himself on the bench in the big games.
Still, Tchouameni managed to get regular game time at the Santiago Bernabeu side. The midfielder made 50 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos, providing four assists.
Liverpool have seen the departure of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi Arabia this summer. Therefore, it is not a surprise to see the Reds being associated with a move for the French national.
We have signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai recently. However, we evidently need more additions to the engine room, especially a number six.

Tchouameni arguably ticks all the boxes needed by Jurgen Klopp right now. The French national is robust and energetic. But will Man United pip us to his signature? Only time will tell.
