The Saudi Pro League continues to attract top talent from all over the world. Neymar Jr. is the latest to follow this trend and joins Al Hilal in the Middle East. One name recently linked with a move to the league was that of Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah.
According to the Saudi publication Al Kass, Mo had given the ‘green light’ to Al Ittihad for negotiations. However, Fabrizio Romano put the speculation of the 31-year-old leaving Liverpool to rest. Here is what he had to say via his YouTube channel:
“Some say that Salah gave the green light to the possibility of joining Saudi clubs, at the moment I’m hearing exactly what his agent said a couple of days ago – no. Mo Salah is focused on Liverpool, Mo Salah wants to play for Liverpool and Mo Salah is 100 percent committed to Liverpool.”
That was it for Mo’s links to Saudi then. This piece of news does not come as a big relief though. Salah‘s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa recently mentioned in a tweet that the Egyptian would not have renewed his contract with the club if he had any intentions of leaving the club.
While the possibility of Salah gracing the Saudi Pro League may have been intriguing, for localities more so, as Salah is probably the most famous Arab footballer there is in the world, the bond he shares with Liverpool runs far too deep for such contemplations to hold weight.
As the Saudi Pro League continues to make waves by enticing marquee names to its realm, Liverpool can rest assured that our prized gem remains firmly anchored at Anfield. His passion for the club, his connection with the fans, and his unwavering focus on success are a testament to his character and a source of inspiration for the entire Liverpool family.
Mo continues to be the source of inspiration within the team as well. There is no one else as reliable as The Egyptian King and he responds whenever the team needs him to. He will surely be a huge part of our season and letting him go is something no Liverpool fan could think of. At least not at the stage the club finds itself in.
While other players may seek new horizons, the relationship between Mo Salah and Liverpool is one built on loyalty, shared dreams, and a determination to continue shining on Merseyside and etching your name permanently in Merseyside folklore.
Having said that, the Saudi League continues to attract top talent from all over the world. The league is surely evolving and more people will surely tune in to watch Saudi ball as the years go by.
