Liverpool are willing to fork up to £20m to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch
As per a tweet from German correspondent Christian Falk, Liverpool have set a bidding target of up to £20m for signing Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch this summer window.
Although the Reds are yet to make an official offer to the German champions, Jurgen Klopp is confident about the qualities Gravenberch possesses. So, it kind of tells us that the boss wants to sign the Dutchman before the deadline of this window.
Gravenberch is a versatile player who can play in a double pivot midfield, as a number eight in a three-man midfield and as a 10 behind the striker. He is technically solid, has no issues in aerial duels due to his height and can impact the game in both boxes.
The 21-year-old was an exceptional young player at Ajax before moving to Bayern last summer. Things went stale for him in Munich last season where he could only manage to play 937 minutes of football in all competitions.
For the price tag mentioned and the ceiling he has, Liverpool could strike a genius deal if Gravenberch comes to Anfield before August 31.
There might be apprehension among people because he didn’t play much last season. But, one cannot judge the trajectory of a young player so early. He is only 21 and has the experience and quality to do well for the Reds provided we sign him.
After the disappointment of losing out Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea, Liverpool have struck back in the market with the signing of Wataru Endo from Stuttgart.
Klopp has made it clear that there could be more signings made by the club before the deadline. Let’s hope Gravenberch is one of them coming in. At 21, he still has a lot of time to develop and become even better.

Hopefully, Virgil van Dijk, the captain of the Netherlands international team, can nudge his compatriot to consider making a move to Anfield. But even then, we will have to strike a deal with Bayern and make a bid they like.
