“I like Szoboszlai”- Graeme Souness unsure about Wataru Endo but backs Liverpool’s superstar midfield duo for success

Graeme Souness backs Liverpool stars Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai for success

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has offered his assessment of the Reds’ summer transfer business, and he’s particularly excited about two new arrivals: Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Souness sees immense potential in the signings of Mac Allister and Szoboszlai. The club wasted no time in securing their services in the summer transfer window, and the early glimpses of their quality have left Souness impressed. Here is what the former Liverpool skipper had to say on the signing of the pair to the Mirror via ECHO:

“I like Szoboszlai and I am a big fan of Mac Allister. With Endo, we will wait and see. Getting good reviews playing in the Bundesliga doesn’t mean you will be a success in the Premier League, which is very demanding and the intensity is greater there than anywhere else. Let’s see how he deals with that.”

We all knew what Macca was capable of from his time at Brighton and Hove Albion. His ability to adapt to the Reds and his contributions to the team’s midfield have caught the eye of both fans and pundits. He has played all across the midfield lines in just four appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side and that speaks levels of his versatility.

Szobo, on the other hand, already has a goal for us, and a banger at that. In the same four games, the Hungarian has shown his ability to stay central, and also drift into forward positions as per the situation.

The New-Look Midfield

Souness believes that these two signings could prove to be “stars” for Liverpool as the season progresses. Their performances in the Premier League and other competitions will be closely watched, and there is optimism that they can play pivotal roles in the team’s success.

While Souness is excited about Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, he remains cautiously optimistic about another summer acquisition, Wataru Endo. The Japanese midfielder, previously in the Bundesliga, is a somewhat unknown quantity in the Premier League. Souness recognizes the challenges of transitioning to the English game and also suggests that Endo’s adaptation may take time.

As the season unfolds, fans will certainly, and eagerly watch how Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, and Endo alongside Ryan Gravenberch settle into their roles and contribute to Liverpool’s quest for domestic and international success.
