Journalist Ben Jacobs believes Jarrod Bowen would be an ideal replacement for Liverpool star Mohamed Salah

Journalist Ben Jacobs of Give Me Sport believes that West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen could be a suitable replacement for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool and follow a similar path to Declan Rice.

The journo has also revealed that the Reds might target the England international, valued at £75 million, if they secure a place in Europe’s top club competition next year. The 26-year-old would favour playing at a club that is actively participating in the UEFA Champions League.

The Egyptian winger’s future at Anfield is uncertain amid widespread interest from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad. Hence, it seems logical to look for an ideal replacement. Although it is difficult to find a player who can fill in the shoes of the experienced Liverpool star, Jurgen Klopp would need to make a decision sooner rather than later.

Journalist Jacobs has stated that West Ham star Bowen could make a high-profile move to a top English club, and the Reds could make a move next summer. As quoted by Give Me Sport, he said:

“Liverpool will have already had a list of Salah replacements long before they knew about the Saudi interest because that’s how they plan. I think that Bowen will now watch Rice go and play Champions League football and will get that same sense of jealousy, or ambition, whatever you want to call it. He’s been a great servant to West Ham, but next summer might be the time, and let’s see whether the Liverpool links grow.”

Bowen is entering the peak years of his career. While some Liverpool supporters may prefer a younger replacement for Salah, the English star could be a suitable choice.

He is a homegrown talent who continues to improve season after season in the Premier League. The attacker’s ability to perform in high-stakes matches could be a valuable asset for a club like Liverpool.

The Merseyside club managed by Klopp presents an obvious and attractive opportunity for the Hammer’s winger to establish themselves in the years ahead.

Bowen has become one of the most thrilling wingers in the Premier League since his move from Hull City to West Ham. Liverpool should prioritise him as their top choice to succeed Salah.

He secured his place in West Ham’s history by scoring the winning goal in last year’s Europa Conference League final in Prague. His legacy at the club is already cemented, and this might lead to a change of scenery.
