Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is full of praise for summer signing Ryan Gravenberch
In the Reds’ recent win over Union Saint-Gilloise, Liverpool summer signing Ryan Gravenberch scored his first goal for the Merseysiders. Irrespective of the goal he scored, the 21-year-old Dutchman’s performance that night was exceptional and he was for large parts, one of the best players on the pitch.
Following a tough season at Bayern Munich, it was more clearer than ever that the player needed a change to explore his potential. He often saw himself on the bench for the Bavarians and struggled to create an impact in the Bundesliga.
However, in his limited appearances in the North-West of England so far, Gravenberch has been absolutely top-notch and Jurgen Klopp could not be any more pleased with the former Ajax man’s development at the club.
Speaking to the club’s official website recently, the gaffer talked about the talents Gravenberch has displayed for the club so far and here is what he had to say:
“He is technically incredibly good, the first touch is insane. The speed-up is top-class. Really good shooter, which we saw with the Darwin [Nunez] goal which was disallowed [v Union]; but the ball was a fire ball before. He’s a really good player.”
Gravenberch is in fine form for the Reds
In six appearances for the Reds across all competitions so far, the Dutchman has a goal and two assists to his name and is the first player to either score or assist a goal in each of his first three starts for Liverpool in all competitions since Milan Baros in September 2002.
There are starts and then, there is that. Given his young age and ceiling-breaking potential, there’s only one way to go from here, and that’s the top.
For Liverpool fans, Gravenberch’s arrival has been a breath of fresh air. His performances on the pitch and the high praise from Klopp indicate that he could become a key figure in the team’s success this season.
As the season progresses, supporters can look forward to witnessing more of Gravenberch’s exciting contributions to the Liverpool squad. With his technical skills and explosive speed, he has the potential to be a game-changer for the Reds in both domestic and European competitions.
