Don Hutchinson picks Liverpool trio Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Szoboszlai in his team of the season
Football pundit Don Hutchinson has named three Liverpool players in his Premier League Team of the Season so far. In a discussion on ESPN FC’s YouTube channel, Hutchinson revealed his best XI from the opening eight games.
Liverpool shot-stopper Alisson Becker got the nod in goal, with Mohamed Salah was selected in the right-wing position. Further, midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai secured a place in the former Reds midfielder’s side following an excellent opening spell of games in red.
Salah earned his spot thanks to another fast start to the campaign. The Egyptian has scored five goals and secured four assists for the Reds this season.
Nothing needs to be said about the Reds’ goalie Allison Becker. He has been delivering terrific performances constantly ever since he signed from AS Roma in 2018. And the young Szoboszlai has been making headlines ever since he signed from RB Leipzig this summer. Don even picked him as a possible player-of-the-season candidate if he keeps up his current form.
Don was full of praise for the 22-year-old Szoboszlai. He dubbed Dominik Szoboszlai a “Rolls-Royce of a player” after naming the Hungarian as his Premier League standout so far this season.
Szoboszlai joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig for £60m in the summer, becoming the club’s fourth most expensive signing ever. Despite the huge fee, the 22-year-old has quickly adapted to exceed expectations at Anfield. Hutchison, who made over 100 appearances for Liverpool, has been hugely impressed by Szoboszlai’s early performances
