Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai lavishes praise on Anfield after Merseyside Derby win
22-year-old Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai tasted his first-ever Merseyside Derby win with a 2-0 win over Everton at Anfield in a performance that Liverpool will surely be proud of. The last time Jurgen Klopp’s men lost to Everton in the Premier League was back in February 2021.
A brace from Mohamed Salah, including a goal from the spot meant that the Reds temporarily leapt to the first place on the points table only until Manchester City secured a result against Brighton elsewhere.
As usual, Szobo was among the Reds’ best players. Playing out from the right side of central midfield with Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch in the middle of the park, the former Leipzig man was among the brightest shining lights for the Reds in a game wherein almost every other Liverpool player was at his best.
“It feels really good, playing at Anfield is something special and playing against Everton is a derby. It feels nice.”
“I expected it would be a good atmosphere but not that loud. I have played in a lot of stadiums but this is one of the best.”

As per BBC, Szobo went on to express his amazement at the stadium’s atmosphere, acknowledging that he expected it to be great but not as loud as it turned out to be. Having played in various stadiums throughout his career, he singled out Anfield as one of the best.
Szoboszlai’s admiration for Anfield’s unique aura resonates with the sentiments of countless footballers who have had the privilege of playing at this iconic venue. Anfield’s rich history and passionate fan base make it an unforgettable experience for both players and spectators.
For Szoboszlai, this Merseyside Derby win will undoubtedly be a cherished memory in his career.
