Liverpool and Manchester City are chasing Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala, but the youngster is still weighing up his options before signing a new deal in Germany.
According to the Daily Mail (h/t Eurosport), Musiala has attracted interest from the Premier League duo with his outstanding performances for Bayern.
The 20-year-old is hesitant to commit his long-term future to the Bavarian giants just yet though. While he would be a dream addition to the Reds, we will have plenty of competition for his signature.
Musiala is said to be carefully assessing his next step, despite Bayern’s eagerness to tie him down. That has placed Liverpool and City on red alert as they monitor the German international’s contract situation. City boss Pep Guardiola is known to be a huge admirer of the versatile attacker.
But Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp
also view Musiala as an ideal potential addition to bolster their forward options. Bayern will pull out all the stops to keep their prized young asset, who continues going from strength to strength. Musiala underlined his quality by scoring in Bayern’s 3-1 Champions League win over Galatasaray this week. But with his contract not expiring until 2026, he is in no rush to commit further despite interest building. The Daily Mail’s report indicates Musiala wants to fully assess his alternatives before extending his stay.
That offers hope to Liverpool and City, who could look to tempt him to the Premier League next summer. Bayern will likely demand a huge fee for the 25-cap Germany international though.
For now, Musiala appears focused on continuing his brilliant development at the Allianz Arena. But the chance to play in England seems to appeal, with the young star weighing up his options carefully before deciding on his next move.
