Liverpool made it clear that they will not entertain any offer for Mohamed Salah in the January transfer window
Liverpool have put a “not for sale” sign for their legend Mohamed Salah in the January transfer window as interest from Saudi Arabia increases. During the summer transfer window, Salah was a target for several Saudi Pro League clubs as they tried to sign him.
The 31-year-old has been in sensational form for the Reds this season despite adjusting to the new role. The Egypt captain has maintained his high level of output for the club under the new style of play.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revamped the midfield after selling most of his ageing players and buying new young talents. The Liverpool boss has termed his new team as “Liverpool 2.0” and made a lot of changes to the system.
Salah is still starting as the first-choice right forward for the Reds in the new system. However, the manager has deployed the 31-year-old in a much wider role compared to his inside forward position in previous seasons.
The shift has also coincided with Trent Alexander-Arnold playing as an inverted fullback more often. The inverted fullback role means Trent is unavailable to bypass Salah and stretch the opposition’s defence.
The Egypt international has also limited his shots per game compared to the previous seasons. Salah has increased his tendency to provide more assists to his attacking teammates in the new system.
Salah has made 13 appearances for the Reds in all competitions this season while contributing 10 goals and four assists. The 31-year-old has maintained his high goal-scoring standards despite less number of shots compared to previous seasons.

Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo) reported that the Saudi clubs are keen to return for Salah in January. During the summer, Al-Ittihad submitted an initial bid of up to £150 million, but Liverpool rejected it. Nevertheless, Liverpool remains completely uninterested in entertaining any offer for their legendary attacker currently.

Salah has proven that he still has a lot of high-level performance left in his tank. The 31-year-old is physically in peak condition and the new system has helped him through his slight loss in pace.
