Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton has been making waves with his impressive performances while on loan at Hull City in the Championship. The 21-year-old’s stellar displays have not only caught the attention of football enthusiasts but have also earned him a call-up to the England U21 squad, a testament to his rapid development.

Last year as well, Morton was extremely impressive for Blackburn Rovers, also on loan, and continued to impress while being not very far off from Merseyside.

Morton’s football journey in the professional arena took an interesting turn when he embarked on a loan spell earlier this season with Hull City, and the midfielder has now shed light on the key factors behind his remarkable form.

In an interview with HullLive, Morton attributed his success to the support and belief shown in him by Hull City’s head coach, Liam Rosenior.

“There’s nothing better than a manager really liking you and taking a real liking to how you play and just how you are as a person, and the gaffer put that to me before I came here.”

The young midfielder emphasized the significance of having a manager who not only appreciates his playing style but also values him as a person. Morton expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by Rosenior, highlighting the positive relationship they’ve built.

A DM for the future

Morton considers himself fortunate to have established a strong bond with Rosenior, acknowledging the manager’s fantastic support. The mutual understanding between player and coach has been a driving force behind Morton’s performances, showcasing his commitment to playing the style of football preferred by Rosenior.

The Hull City head coach has not only brought Morton into the team but has entrusted him with a pivotal role, emphasising a style of play that aligns with the midfielder’s strengths. Morton is determined to reciprocate this confidence by delivering on the pitch and showcasing why he was the chosen player for Rosenior’s vision.

He has 10 appearances in the Championship this season while getting two assists to boot as well. If he continues to play well, he might save the Reds millions as we are in dire straits when it comes to a defensive midfielder. The next season could truly be Morton Ball at Anfield.
