Bayern Munich star Harry Kane applauds his “fantastic” teammate and Liverpool target Jamal Musiala
Bayern Munich star forward Harry Kane praised his “fantastic” teammate Jamal Musiala amid interest from Liverpool in the 20-year-old. Musiala played a pivotal role in Bayern’s 0-1 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Champions League.
The 20-year-old is one of the brightest talents in the world right now with maturity beyond his age. Musiala is a very versatile midfielder with the ability to play in both wings and as a central midfielder.
The 20-year-old’s preferred position is at central attacking midfield from where he is at his deadliest between the opposition’s channels. The German international has world-class dribbling ability and close control combined with his balance and agility.
His dribbling prowess helps him beat any opponent and wiggle his way out of close spaces to create chances. Musiala is a brilliant number 10 with strong passing and shooting technique and delivering through balls instinctively.
The German fits perfectly in a counter-pressing philosophy, working hard when the team loses possession of the ball. His ability to read the game helps him intercept opposition passes as well as use good decision-making on the ball.
Speaking to TNT Sports(h/t X), Kane heaped praise on Musiala and his incredible abilities at such a young age. He said:
“He’s fantastic. Really good kid, [with a] really good mentality as well. Wants to improve. Wants to work hard. He has been a little bit unfortunate with injuries, which have knocked him out of rhythm a bit. But you saw out there tonight when he gets in those spaces, he is so agile, so quick. He drives with the ball and then plays a good final ball.”

German publication Sport Bild reported that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of Musiala. Despite the 20-year-old’s contract running until 2026, the club benches him after every good performance, leading to his frustration. The player has currently put Bayern’s attempt to hold contract talks on hold.

The Reds need to bolster their defence in the upcoming window and prioritize those areas. Klopp revamped the midfield during the summer, filling the attack and midfield with incredible talents. However, Musiala would be a marquee signing, if available for the right price, he has to become a priority.
