Former Liverpool star considers Premier League return amidst Fulham interest

Fulham target former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino

Former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has attracted interest from plenty of clubs including Fulham, and a move back to the Premier League may be on the cards.

As per TalkSport, (h/t Mirror) Fulham have expressed their interest in signing the 32-year-old, who is currently playing for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

Sheffield United were also among the clubs that wanted to bring in the Brazilian before Paul Heckingbottom was replaced by Chris Wilder last month.

The Brazilian left Liverpool last summer and joined Saudi club Al Ahli. Firmino’s time at Anfield saw him rack up 111 goals

in 362 appearances across all competitions as he helped the Reds win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup.

However, they could demand a large sum, which the cottagers might not be able to afford. For Al-Ahli, Firmino hasn’t been that convincing and has netted three goals and racked up two assists in 17 league games.

A move back to the English top-flight league will be great, given that he is just 32 and still has the qualities of a top striker to make an impact.

He is a difference-maker and will be great for Fulham, who have lost Alexander Mitrovic to another Saudi club. Since then, they have been poor and failed to find a Serbian replacement.

Firmino will be a great supplement, given that the striker has played the majority of the time in the Premier League and won’t even take time to settle in the league. He has the ingredients to reinforce Fulham’s attack and solve their scoring goals problem.

A return to Liverpool is certainly not possible, given that the Reds have plenty of ammunition in their forward line. However, it will be Firmino’s decision because the striker has signed a two-year deal with Saudi Arabia.
