Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe willing to make huge financial sacrifice as he seeks an ‘amicable exit’ from PSG

Paris Saint-Germain megastar Kylian Mbappe agrees to forgo loyalty bonus amid Liverpool transfer rumours

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe agreed to waive the loyalty bonus to finalize a mutual exit amid the Liverpool link.  Mbappe has entered the final six months of his contract with PSG as the rumours about him continue to build.

The 25-year-old is eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with a new club and join as a free agent next summer. Spanish giants Real Madrid have kept a keen interest in the Frenchman for a long time.

Mbappe is the highest-paid football player in Europe with a contract that many clubs are incapable of affording. That is one big reason that has kept Madrid as the only potential candidate for Mbappe for a long time.

However, there has been a suggestion that the 25-year-old is more motivated to forge a legacy than earn more money. In a 2022 interview with the Telegraph, Mbappe mentioned Liverpool as his mother’s favourite club, inciting more rumours.

Mirror reported that Mbappe has agreed to sacrifice £69m loyalty bonus to make an amicable move away from PSG. He is willing to waive the owed 80 million euros loyalty bonus for staying at PSG beyond last summer window.

Regarded as one of the best players in the world, Mbappe’s move holds commercial and football benefits for any club. The 25-year-old has won every trophy apart from the Champions League which has eluded him till now.

Six-time Champions League winner Liverpool are everything he desires in a club but his finances just make the deal unrealistic. Despite the continuous rumours, the Kopites and football experts around the club are completely sceptical of this dream move.

PSG star Kylian Mbappe is the highest-paid footballer in Europe.

The Jude Bellingham saga is fresh in the memory of the Kopites, though the alternatives to Jude have been sensational. The Reds have a fundamental way of working in the transfer market to compete with high-spending rival clubs.

The modus operandi has been a great success but at times it has tested the patience of the fans. If there is a Mbappe surprise waiting, the fans would surely go crazy and welcome him with open arms. However, until then we would prefer to stay in reality and put our hope in the season at hand. Our current squad has been magnificent and they deserve our full attention and support right now.
