John Oliver won an award at the Emmys last night and wasted no time as he began to shout out Liverpool and the team’s starters during his acceptance speech. Oliver has long been a fan of the Reds and has mentioned them on TV multiple times.
There were no long speeches allowed apparently, he was later interrupted by Anthony Andreson’s mother who hinted that his speech was running a little too long. He started by naming Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil van Dijk and would’ve gone on to name the whole team if he wasn’t interrupted.
Surely this will bring a smile to the face of the players and Jurgen Klopp. It is always nice for the team to get support from their fans when they’re doing well, hopefully, they’ll show the same energy when the team’s form falters.
Liverpool are currently on top of the Premier League table and have a real shot at running away with the title. The team is in fine form and have won four out of their last five games. Once Mo Salah returns from AFCON the Reds will be set to continue their run at the top.
Meanwhile, Klopp will be counting on the production of Darwin Nunez, who has been a little faulty with his goal-scoring this season. Through 30 appearances the Uruguayan has recorded eight goals and ten assists for the team.
Liverpool will be facing off against Bournemouth this Sunday. This is a golden chance for the team to grab three extra points and take a five-point lead against second-place Manchester City.
The Reds have what it takes to end Manchester City’s run at the top. Apart from fans of the club the rest of the Premier League is also hoping to see someone else lift the cup for a change.
