Liverpool are ready to secure the future of vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold by offering him a new lucrative contract

Liverpool are preparing to offer a new lucrative contract to vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold and secure his future with the club. The Reds manager Jurgen Klopp appointed Trent as the new vice-captain of the team last summer, highlighting his importance.

The Liverpool-born 25-year-old has played a pivotal role in the Reds’ successful season so far in each competition. The Reds are currently at the top of the Premier League table and have successfully progressed further in every competition.

Trent has played most of the season as the inverted right-back, enjoying more freedom to control the game from centre. Deployed in a number six role as a deep-lying playmaker when Joe Gomez assumed the right-back position, Trent’s versatility and tactical adaptability shine through for Liverpool. Furthermore, the successful development of Conor Bradley adds another right-back option which can help Trent shift permanently to midfield.

Centrally, Trent has enjoyed more area to distribute his passes and dictate the tempo of the game. The 25-year-old has been sensational in the position, contributing to each phase of the game.

The England international understands what fullback requires from a number six, having played most of his senior career out wide. Furthermore, he is the best playmaker in the team, and he has helped Liverpool make many successful comebacks this season.

The 25-year-old has made 26 appearances in all competitions so far, contributing with two goals and nine assists this season. He returned in the 5-2 FA Cup win over Norwich City after suffering a knee injury earlier this month.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool are gearing up to present Trent with a lucrative offer to ensure his future at the club. He is a lifelong Liverpool fan and one of the best playmakers in the world, making his contract a priority. Trent’s current contract expires on June 30, 2025 (h/t Transfermarkt), which means the hierarchy needs to start negotiation soon.
