Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made a strong title prediction as the Reds travel to the Emirate Stadium to face Arsenal in Sunday’s Premier League encounter
Liverpool are top of the league table with 51 points, five points adrift of Manchester City and Arsenal. However, Pep Guardiola’s side have played a game less. The Reds now travel to the Emirates, knowing full well that they face a decisive test against the Gunners.
Liverpool are vying for four trophies this season after an underwhelming performance last season as they finished fifth and missed out of the Champions League last season.
The Reds missed several players including Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino, James Milner, and Fabinho last summer but Klopp rebuilt his squad with the signing of four midfielders and are now going toe-to-toe with the defending champions Man City.
A win over Arsenal will strengthen Liverpool’s lead at the summit, however, a defeat or a draw could see Man City take full advantage of the situation.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the crucial game, the German said (h/t The Mirror):
“What we’ve learned over the years is if you want to be around City then you’d better win all your football games because they do.
“This is the league, this is the time when City are dominating, that’s how it is.”
Klopp also goes on to talk about Arsenal’s credentials. The Gunners pushed Manchester City last season but are still arguably miles away from taking the race to the wire. A loss later tonight to Liverpool will set them back even further. As far as whether they are genuine contenders, Klopp isn’t too concerned unless the Gunners can come out on top.
“Arsenal, they beat us, they’re definitely there. If they don’t beat us, then ask them or other people, because I don’t know what that means.
Liverpool last won the Premier League during the 2019/20 season in what was a near faultless campaign. The Reds were miles ahead of Man City who suffered a 3-1 defeat enroute to the title they had won twice in a row.
Since then, the Reds have been on the brink of securing the ultimate victory but has twice fallen short to Pep Guardiola’s side. Hopefully it is third time lucky as the Reds plot to send off Jurgen Klopp on a high.

Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave Liverpool at the end of the season has ignited a strong response within the club, with players displaying heightened motivation to perform. Despite a fierce effort for four titles in the 2021/22 season, Liverpool ultimately secured two domestic trophies, falling short at the final hurdle on the remaining two occasions. As Klopp concludes his nine-year tenure at the club, the team is determined to clinch all available titles as a fitting tribute to their esteemed manager.
