Stellar Liverpool duo nominated for Premier League January gong

Liverpool duo Conor Bradley and Diogo Jota have earned nominations for the Premier League Player of the Month award for January

Liverpool star duo Conor Bradley and Diogo Jota received nominations for the Premier League Player of the Month award in January. Both players played a pivotal role in the Reds’ successful month despite losing many important senior team players.

Liverpool lost Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo to international duties with the commencement of the Asian Cup and AFCON competition. The Reds suffered an injury crisis at the same time with key players like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dominik Szoboszlai sidelined.

Liverpool started the new year with a fantastic 4-2 victory over Newcastle United. Salah and Endo featured in the match before departing for the international duties, captaining their respective Nations. Jota provided an assist during the game, playing a 26-minute cameo in the latter part of the game.

On 7th January, Liverpool beat Arsenal 0-2 at Emirates Stadium to progress further in the FA CUP competition. The Portuguese forward once again produced a crucial assist in the game while Bradley played an important cameo.

Next, the Reds beat Fulham 2-1 in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals to secure a healthy advantage. Bradley won the Man of the Match award for his impressive display on the right flank.

Liverpool beat Bournemouth 0-4 in the Premier League away clash as Jota bagged two goals and an assist. Bradley notched an assist of his own while keeping the right-back position secured defensively.

Liverpool played the second leg against Fulham on 24th January which ended in a 1-1 draw, progressing to the finals. On 28 January, the Reds played Norwich City in the FA Cup fourth round, winning the game 5-2. The 27-year-old Portuguese scored a goal in the 53rd minute of the game while Bradley bagged two assists.

The Reds ended their month with a 4-1 victory over Chelsea in the Premier League clash at Anfield. Liverpool dominated as Bradley played a key role once again, scoring his first senior goal and providing two assists. Jota once again showed his lethal finishing by scoring a fantastic opening goal for the Reds.

Sky Sports (h/t X) reported that Jota and Bradley received nominations for the Premier League Player of the Month for January. The nomination also includes Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Magalhaes, Richarlison and Elijah Adebayo.
