Liverpool star wins Premier League Player of the Month for January

Liverpool star Diogo Jota won the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for his spectacular form in January

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota received the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for his consistent performances in January. Jota played a crucial role for the Reds in helping them navigate through the tricky congested fixture period.

Alongside the heavy fixture, Liverpool faced an injury crisis and missing key players due to international duties during the month. The 27-year-old made a timely return from muscle injury before the month started and the new year began.

The Reds are currently at the top of the Premier League table, but Manchester City and Arsenal are closely behind. Furthermore, January had an important FA Cup and the two legs of the Carabao Cup semi-final fixtures.

Jota produced three goals and two assists in the three Premier League fixtures in January. The Reds beat Newcastle United 4-2 in the opening game of the year with the Portuguese providing an assist.

Liverpool beat Bournemouth 0-4 in the away game on 21st January as the 27-year-old produced two goals and an assist. The Reds beat Chelsea 4-1 at Anfield in the final day of the month in which Jota scored a goal.

The Portugal international has 14 goals and three assists from 27 appearances in all competitions this season. Liverpool FC’s official X account reported that Jota won the Premier League’s Player of the Month award in January.

The 27-year-old’s incredible productivity and work rate nullified the void that prolific Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah left. Salah left Liverpool to serve Egypt during the AFCON competition and subsequently faced sideline due to a hamstring injury.
