Klopp has managed to balance the club’s ambition with providing opportunities to Liverpool Academy players throughout this season. The youngsters have played more often and in numbers in recent games due to the severity of the injury crisis.

Furthermore, they beat Brentford, Luton Town and Forest in the Premier League within a gap of a few days between matches. They also beat Southampton in the FA Cup fifth round to progress into the tournament’s quarter-finals.

Stat-based site OptaJoe used their official X account to reveal substitutes’ impact throughout this season. Liverpool substitutes have contributed to 43 goals in all competitions this season, with 21 goals and 22 assists. This is the most number of contributions by any side in Europe’s top-five leagues this season.
