Rivals does not mean enemies as Declan Rice praises Liverpool
Liverpool are involved in an exciting top-of-the-table race in the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester City in the ongoing campaign. With Jurgen Klopp calling time to his tenure at the Merseyside-based club, Liverpool would hope to send him off on a high and reintegrate the legacy that he leaves behind at Anfield Stadium.
With the high-spending Manchester City and the smart spenders Arsenal, this three-horse Premiership race is venturing into an exciting one for the neutrals. The title race is at a point where one result can change the outcome of the season, especially when things get to the business end of the season. Things look like it could go down to the wire with even a goal difference having the capacity to be the title decider.
With all the rivalry on the pitch, Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has hailed Liverpool to be an “unbelievable” club despite the Gunners’ chasing Jurgen Klopp & Co. in the Premier League table.
Declan Rice made his highly anticipated move to Arsenal in the summer for a fee of around £105 million. He has got going at the heart of the pitch for the North London side in no time and has been proving to be an influential figure in Arsenal’s race to top of the table.
While there are still a couple of top-of-the-table fixtures to go as the Blues from Manchester are due to play both Liverpool and Arsenal this month. March is set to be a pivotal period that could end up playing an important role when counting points at the end of the season.
Speaking about the current situation and how teams are lining up on the pitch, Declan Rice couldn’t help but praise the Reds while admitting he can’t bear to watch Arsenal’s title competitors in action.
The 25-year-old speaking to Sky Sports said:
“I hate watching it now [games]. We can’t control what others are doing. I see the results, but I just try to focus on what we’re doing.
“The league is so strong: City are unbelievable, Liverpool are unbelievable, Spurs have been unreal under, Ange, Villa under Emery have been so good as well. Every game is tough. You cannot overlook anyone and anything can happen. I’m relishing going out every week and having to play really well. 12 to go, one game at a time. Everyone has tough fixtures. Let’s see what can happen.”
This season’s race could end up being one for the decade, it’s all or nothing now.
