Liverpool superstar reveals his future plans amidst Jurgen Klopp exit

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah shunned the idea that the departure of Jurgen Klopp would affect his future at the club

Mohamed Salah reiterated his commitment to Liverpool amid the impending departure of legendary manager Jurgen Klopp after the current season. Klopp announced that he is stepping back from the managerial role due to the feeling of burnout and lacking energy.

The news erupted numerous rumours about the long-serving players who achieved a lot of success under the guidance of Klopp. Salah has enjoyed a very prolific career with the Reds under the German boss, becoming a legend at Liverpool himself.

Klopp revamped the squad during the summer as many long-serving players past their best departed from the club. The Liverpool boss deployed Salah by tinkering with his style of play to compensate for his ageing and lengthen his career.

Known for his sensational pace and dribbling skills throughout his career, the Egypt captain relied on other skills he possesses. He has developed a strong link-up with his teammates and used his technical and creative abilities more this season.

Nevertheless, the 31-year-old continues to be a prolific goal scorer for the club and has added numerous assists as well. He has stayed wide during the defensive and middle phases when Liverpool have the possession, to stretch the opposition.

Salah goes narrow only in the attacking phase to pick up his moment and score goals or provide critical assists. The Egyptian has 19 goals and 10 assists in all competitions after appearing in 29 matches for Liverpool this season.

Speaking to Jamie Carragher in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Salah highlighted his commitment to the club. He said:

“No. It’s part of life now, that everything moves. Players have left already, very important players. The manager is also very important for the club and is leaving. One day I will leave the club, but no [Klopp leaving doesn’t affect my future].”

Salah suffered a hamstring injury while serving Egypt in the AFCON tournament in January, missing many Liverpool games. Despite his absence, the Reds have continued to win critical games as well as achieve the Carabao Cup victory.
