Manchester City defender Kyle Walker makes Liverpool title claim
Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has hit out at Arsenal while expressing his preference for Liverpool in the race for the Premiership title over Arsenal, who have been impressive under Mikel Arteta.
The Blues from City have won only once at Anfield Stadium since Pep Guardiola took charge at Manchester City and that was during the lockdown period in a behind-closed-doors fixture.
The Citizens have a tough run of fixtures coming up as they host Newcastle United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup before hosting the Gunners at the Etihad at the end of the month.
Ahead of a pivotal run of fixtures, Manchester City defender Kyle Walker appeared on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel as the 33-year-old backs City to get better of Arsenal. City, last season, defeated Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium 4-1 while Walker also took a jab at how Arsenal have heavily borrowed from Guardiola.
When he was asked about being impressed by what Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are doing during an interview with Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel, Walker replied:
“I think you’ve taken our assistant coach as your manager. You’ve got [Oleksandr] Zinchenko I think is a very big part of it. And Gabi [Gabriel Jesus]. But I’ll give you credit, it’s a very, very good team now. A very good team.”
Arsenal defeated Manchester City at the Emirates earlier in the season and when that was brought up, Kyle Walker continued:
“The better team won on the day. Still a lot of games to play. Remember the last time they came to the Etihad? Come to the Etihad, we’ll see. We will see.”
Kyle Walker has spent eight years at Tottenham spoke about how he wants Liverpool to win the league if City can’t owing to his past allegiance with the Lilywhites.
“It’s so hard. I don’t want Arsenal [to win] because of Tottenham. Yeah, I just don’t want Arsenal.”

The title race is shaped to be an exciting one irrespective of how it goes. Kyle Walker can say it either way but coming this weekend, when he visits Anfield, we make sure he is on the losing side just to make his predictions come true.
