Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah played a key role in being exempted from the Egypt squad
Mohamed Salah has convinced Egypt national team that he will stay at Liverpool during the March international break and recover from injury. The Egypt captain returned to action against Sparta Praha in the 1-5 Europa League victory last week.
Salah returned from the muscular problem that occurred right after he returned from a hamstring injury which happened during the AFCON competition. The 31-year-old played 30 minutes in an important Premier League clash against Manchester City that ended in 1-1 draw.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has managed the amount of exposure to game time that Salah could get while recovering fully. The time management is necessary to make sure the Egyptian will not suffer another relapse for the remainder of the season.
The Mirror reported that Salah held talks with Egyptian sports minister Ashraf Sobhy to avoid a call-up and recover from injury. Sobhy ensured Salah’s exclusion from international duties by speaking directly to Egypt boss Hosan Hassan.
Liverpool are currently at par on points tally with Premier League leaders Arsenal, who are ahead with goal difference. Furthermore, the Reds are challenging for the FA Cup and the Europa League after securing the Carabao Cup.
Salah has played a pivotal role for the Reds this season, driving them to challenge in each competition. The 31-year-old has changed his style of play to compensate for his age and the new teammates that surround him.

Instead of only using dribbling and pace and just looking to score goals, he has been unselfish and more creative. The Egyptian has contributed more on the overall play, staying wide to stretch the opposition until the final attacking phase.

Nevertheless, Salah has continued his prolific goal-scoring career with Liverpool, only adding more to the assist chart. His link-up play with teammates, technical prowess and vision has played a key role in the club’s attacking supremacy.
Salah is also one of the important locker-room leaders, playing a key role in every trophy that Liverpool won under Klopp. He has used his wisdom and experience to mentor youngsters at the club who have enjoyed opportunities. For Liverpool to finish strongly during the last stage of the season, Salah must maintain full fitness.
