Former Liverpool forward makes prediction on who will triumph in the PL title race

Former Liverpool forward Peter Crouch backs the club to win the Premier League title race involving Manchester City and Arsenal

Peter Crouch believes Liverpool can beat Manchester City and Arsenal to win the Premier League title with 10 games remaining. Liverpool are currently behind Arsenal in second place due to the goal difference, Man City one point behind them.

Many football pundits and fans shrugged Liverpool off as a title contender during the beginning of the season. Furthermore, the majority predicted that the Reds would struggle to make it to the top four this season.

Last season, Liverpool failed to qualify for the Champions League, finishing fifth after struggling to find consistency throughout the season. The Reds faced a hangover after their impressive quadruple chase during the 2021-22 season and many long-serving players regressed drastically.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp rejuvenated the squad for this season despite many doubters questioning the club’s title contention.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp used the summer transfer window to completely revamp the midfield, their weakest department last season. Klopp appointed Virgil van Dijk as captain to replace outgoing midfielder Jordan Henderson, ushering in many big changes in the team.

Pundits and fans predicted a slow transition at the club but Klopp’s new squad showed impressive cohesiveness and adaptability. Liverpool have already secured the Carabao Cup while they continue to pursue the Premier League and the Europa League.

Speaking on talkSPORT (h/t YouTube), Crouch insisted that Liverpool can shock the world and win the Premier League this season. He said:

“I said Liverpool at the start of the season, and many people will say there is a bias there, and probably slightly right. Arsenal have kind of played their way back into the conversation; obviously, Manchester City will be favourites considering their previous history. You would say it is a two-horse race, but Arsenal have put themselves back into the mix. I just think the amount of games they have played where they have won so convincingly and they get the injuries back, it is definitely a three-horse race. But I am going to stick with Liverpool; I still think they can do it.”

Many fans have argued that Liverpool should be clear of Arsenal and Man City right now if officiating had consistency. Games, where the Reds dropped points, had several critical incidents where game-changing decisions went against them incorrectly.

and his team have played. Klopp has built a culture that allows the development of academy players into strong men with character and ability to play at the highest level. His accomplishments have allowed Liverpool to balance their values with ambition that drives the club towards success and prosperity.
