Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp expects a fully-fit Wataru Endo ahead of Manchester United clash
After seeing himself sidelined against Sheffield United due to a knock, Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo could return to action ahead of the all-important clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford this Sunday.
Speaking to the club’s official website after the 3-1 win over the Blades, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp provided a positive update on the 30-year-old Japanese international, expecting him to come fully fit and fine to travel to Old Trafford.
“That’s my information [that he will be fit].”
“We rested him today. We had a feeling there could have been a chance for tonight but if we leave him out then there is a big chance for Sunday. I hope that didn’t change.”
Endo has been one of our most consistent performers. While his absence did not remain deeply felt against Sheffield, it would surely cause a problem or two if he sits out of the United clash. Luckily for us, he still remains in contention to face the Red Devils.
Welcome boost!
Ryan Gravenberch, who started in midfield alongside Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai against Chris Wilder’s men, will most likely make way for the former Stuttgart man. Ryan’s performance was not on par alongside his fellow midfielders against Sheffield, and that opens up space for Endo to directly make his way into the XI.
The midfield trio of Endo, Macca, and Szobo has been instrumental in Liverpool’s triumphs this season. Endo’s potential reinstatement further strengthens the team’s midfield dynamics. His ability to dictate play, break up opposition attacks, and provide defensive stability will be crucial against a United side known for their midfield prowess.
As Liverpool aim to maintain their momentum and consolidate their position at the top of the Premier League table, Endo’s availability certainly adds depth and quality to Klopp’s squad. With the title race heating up and every point crucial, having key players like Endo, and soon, the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold among others fit and firing is essential for Liverpool’s aspirations of lifting the trophy at the end of the season.
