In an earlier interview with Bleacher Report (h/t Liverpool Echo) in October 2023, Alexander-Arnold heaped admiration on the midfielder, who departed RB Leipzig in the summer for Liverpool. The English international said:

“They can do everything, and it’s just natural. That’s the kind of vibe you get with him. He’s a talent that’s very special. He’s an exceptional player and a great lad as well, so he’s someone who is very exciting for the club, very exciting for himself as well.”

The Hungarian playmaker arrived at Liverpool from RB Leipzig last summer for a reported fee of around £60 million, and he quickly endeared himself to his new club with his performances on the pitch.
