Croatian touted as Jurgen Klopp’s successor breaks silence on Liverpool interest

Niko Kovac breaks silence on Liverpool managerial links

Niko Kovac has poured cold water on the rumours linking him to the managerial role at Liverpool, putting an end to the swirling speculations.

As Liverpool navigate through the uncertainty of the post-Jurgen Klopp era, various names have emerged as potential candidates to fill the coveted position at Anfield.

Recent reports from Daily Mail had suggested that Kovac’s representatives were exploring the possibility of a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool touted as a potential destination.

No Kovac!

Kovac has now responded to the speculation linking him with the job at Anfield while appearing on ‘Sport and Talk in Hangar 7’ for ServusTV. The former Wolfsburg manager has dismissed the reports suggesting that he could be the next Liverpool boss. Here is what he had to say via ECHO:

“There’s always a lot written about it, but there’s nothing to it,”

Kovac’s denial comes at a time when Liverpool is actively searching for Klopp’s successor, with the managerial seat at Anfield attracting significant attention from potential candidates across Europe. Kovac’s managerial experience with top clubs like Bayern Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Monaco had placed him in the spotlight, but it appears that he is not in contention for the Liverpool job at this moment.

Having been out of work since parting ways with Wolfsburg earlier this season, Kovac is currently biding his time and awaiting the right opportunity to make his return to management. His recent comments have clarified his position amidst the ongoing speculation, putting to rest any notions of an imminent move to Liverpool.

The focus will now certainly shift to other potential candidates who could lead the club into a new era. With Klopp set to depart at the end of the season, Liverpool’s hierarchy will be keen to secure a suitable replacement who can build upon the progress made under the German tactician.
