When asked who would be the ideal candidate to join Liverpool, former player Steve Nicol suggested Victor Osimhen. Nicol reportedly paid tribute to the striker, who has become a Serie A sensation after he was instrumental in Napoli’s championship victory

“Osimhen. I think Osimhen would be fantastic for Liverpool. The middle of the park, we have just signed Mac Allister and Szoboszlai. Endo has turned out to be incredible. He (Nunez) can start out wide.”

The Nigerian forward has demonstrated his ability to direct the attack and score a variety of goals. Osimhen has continued to be a major player for Napoli despite their struggles, with 13 goals and 3 assists in 20 league appearances this season.

Osimhen is unquestionably among the top strikers in the world right now. Hence, teams like Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are thinking about signing him.

Liverpool’s concerning attacking form

Darwin Nunez‘s patchy performance this season has the club’s management and supporters concerned. Although the Uruguayan has a lot of promise, the Premier League team has suffered this season as a result of his dismal conversion rate.

The 25-year-old Nigerian star could be a huge boost for Liverpool’s attack. Though not a direct substitute, Osimhen, who is six years Salah’s junior, would provide the squad with a comparable goal-scoring history.
