Liverpool superstar’s future at Anfield uncertain amidst managerial change

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold accepts uncertainty regarding his future at the club

Trent Alexander-Arnold, the standout right-back for Liverpool, has admitted that he is anxious to play for a team without Jurgen Klopp in charge the following season.

After nine fruitful years, the German manager will depart Anfield next month. Alexander-Arnold made his debut under the legendary boss in 2016 at the age of 18.

Alexander-Arnold, who is 25 years old, has made 303 first-team appearances for the squad, collecting seven titles and contributing 81 assists in addition to 18 goals. Everything has come under Klopp’s direction, which has been essential to his growth.

about a new manager taking over for Jurgen Klopp for the upcoming campaign. He says he’s looking forward to a fresh approach to play, but he also understands it would be a significant shift for the team.

Sporting manager Ruben Amorim is the man ready to replace Klopp, although the 39-year-old Portuguese tactician has publicly denied claims he already has a verbal agreement in principle with the Premier League giants.

Alexander-Arnold told Gary Neville on The Overlap (h/t Mirror):

“I’d probably say I’m sat on the fence with regards to my feelings on a new manager coming in. It’ll be a completely different situation and it’s going to be weird to then turn up to pre-season, having to adopt a new playing style.”

“Whereas now, without anything getting said to me, I know all the manager wants me to play, and I turn up to pre-season, I know to jump there, I’m to press there, but for this summer, my next pre-season will have a completely different message.”

“It’s going to be strange, but I think I like the idea of a new challenge for the team, the players and the club. The new manager is going to come in and change the way we play, and it’ll be a different culture and different messages.”

In Sunday’s Anfield loss to Crystal Palace, Alexander-Arnold returned from injury and made his first appearance since February 10. With six games remaining in the championship fight, Liverpool is now two points behind Manchester City as a result of the outcome.

Alexander-Arnold remains hopeful that, despite the change in the dugout, the dynamic around the club won’t change following Klopp’s exit. Until the mentality and eagerness to win are there, things will be fine at the club.
