BBC pundit believes Liverpool will secure £100 million plus for misfiring star

BBC pundit Clinton Morrison believes that an offer of over £100 million would be enough to secure Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah

Clinton Morrison asserted that any transfer offer above £100 million should be enough to lure Mohamed Salah away from Liverpool. Salah has continued his prolific career for the Reds this season but recently struggled to perform at the topmost level.

Liverpool have unfortunately crashed out of the FA Cup and the Europa League due to their sudden drop in form. The Reds have struggled with complacency in both the defensive and offensive phases of the game, costing them important fixtures.

They are currently third in the Premier League table, two points behind league-leaders Arsenal with a game in hand. The Reds have dropped four points in their last two Premier League game and have themselves to blame for it.

They have conceded poor goals due to bad organization and lapse in concentration, allowing opponents to compact themselves in defence. Furthermore, the poor individual performances from the attackers have annoyed both fans and people associated with the club.

Salah and the other attackers have missed several goalscoring opportunities, showing a lack of composure and precision in front of the goal. The Egypt captain has also struggled with a long-term injury since January, a problem he never faced before.

Morrison told BBC Radio Five Live (h/t TEAMTALK) that Liverpool could sell Salah for over £100 million during the summer. He said:

“They are trying to make the Saudi league grow and having Salah there will go to another level. They have brought in the likes of Ronaldo, and Neymar. If you bring Salah in, and you made a good point Fletch, he is 31. No Liverpool fan or the new manager coming in would want to lose Salah. His numbers playing from the right-hand side are fantastic. His numbers are ridiculous. Will they be able to get a player who can replicate what Salah can do? But he is getting to that age where if you get over £100m for him, I can see him leaving this summer.”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced that he is leaving the club at the end of the current season. The imminent transition could also involve the exodus of many players who established themselves under Klopp.

Despite the love and adoration that Salah rightfully governs from the Liverpool fans, he is reaching the final years of his peak. Apart from his struggles in front of goal, the 31-year-old has been nullified by the opponents in the overall gameplay. Nevertheless, the Egypt captain would continue to score and create goals despite his sudden drop in form. Liverpool needs to consider whether they can rely on their highest earner to avoid another sudden drop in form at a crucial stage.
