Liverpool seeking €85 million to part ways with under-fire superstar

Barcelona are monitoring the situation surrounding Darwin Nunez as Liverpool put a price tag

Liverpool put a price tag on Darwin Nunez amid uncertainty about his future as Barcelona shows interest in signing him. Darwin blocked many Liverpool-based social media accounts and deleted the Instagram posts related to the Reds in the recent week.

The 24-year-old faced severe criticism for his failure to score numerous clear-cut chances this season as the club stumbled recently. While some fans and pundits meant well with their criticism, many toxic trolls on social media misused the situation.

Since signing for the Reds in a high-valued deal from Benfica, a witch-hunt against Darwin has gripped the social media. Many accounts that depend on engagement, use toxic hate-filled narratives to their advantage, falsely pretending to be the Liverpool fans.

Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez’s social media actions attracted interest from the top clubs like Barcelona.

Despite the hatred and the criticism, the Uruguayan has played a pivotal role for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp this season. The 24-year-old has made 52 appearances in all competitions this season, contributing with 18 goals and 13 assists for Liverpool.

Liverpool fans appreciate and acknowledge the contributions of Darwin, who put in selfless and hardworking shifts for his team every time. Many fans shared their surprise over the action taken by Nunez, hoping he can differentiate the trolls from true fans.

Fichajes reported that Liverpool have put a €85 million price tag on Darwin Nunez to ward off interest from Barcelona. The Catalan club are seeking a suitable replacement for Robert Lewandowski during the summer but they lack the financial budget.

There is no concrete news to verify that Liverpool are planning to sell Darwin during the summer. On the contrary, the Reds intend to keep him as the new manager Arne Slot takes over the club from legendary manager Jurgen Klopp. Slot’s tactics and different perspectives could be the exact thing that Nunez needs to fulfil his full potential and gain composure in front of the goal.
