Liverpool could sign Bundesliga duo to bolster their defence this summer
As reported by Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are interested in signing both Willian Pacho and Piero Hincapie this summer. The Bundesliga duo would go a long way towards reinforcing the Reds’ defensive line which has often been missing key pieces lately.
Virgil van Dijk will soon be turning 33 years old. Andrew Robertson is also on the wrong side of 30. Ibrahima Konate’s future at Anfield has a shadow of doubt over it. So, the Reds are in desperate need of some reinforcements in defence.
Both Pacho and Hincapie are 22 years old and have shown promising signs this season. Willian has made 44 appearances for Frankfurt and has also recorded two assists which shows that he can even be a threat in the final third.
Piero Hicapie has made 43 appearances and has also made two goal contributions during Bayer Leverkusen’s invincible run this season. Both players have excellent profiles for being a part of the Liverpool squad.
If the Reds can pull off a deal their defensive line would be well set up for a long time to come. The emergence of Jarell Quansah and Connor Bradley has been massive for the Reds. With Pacho and Hincapie they can add two more young pieces to the board.
However, it is unlikely that the team will be able to buy the two stars before making a sale of their own. Even if they do it would be difficult to work out a deal for the two that allows them to freely navigate for more pieces.
