Liverpool and Alisson are prioritizing continuing together, confirms Fabrizio Romano.
There has been a lot of talk surrounding the future of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson. The 31-year-old is at the top of his game and many teams have been interested in acquiring his services for quite some time now, with Saudi Arabia being a constant threat.
However, the Anfield crowd can rest easy now that Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Reds are planning next season with Alisson in mind. Romano also confirmed that there were approaches made from Saudi Arabia back in March.
But, the Reds did not advance talks and no concrete interest was established in the 31-year-old goalkeeper. For the time being it seems like both Liverpool and Alisson are prioritizing working with each other for continued success.
There’s no telling what Liverpool will look like next season now that Jurgen Klopp is gone. It wouldn’t be surprising if some of the team’s biggest names leave this now that the German manager will not be at the helm.
However, the Reds will not have to worry about Alisson leaving. There’s no doubt that the Brazilian goalkeeper will play a huge role under Arne Slott. During Klopp’s last season, Alisson made a total of 32 appearances recording 11 clean sheets.
He was constantly struggling with injuries but wasn’t missed a lot since Caoimhin Kelleher came in and stepped into Alisson’s shoes perfectly. While Kelleher did an excellent job as the backup goalkeeper, he didn’t do enough to bench the Brazilian.

If Liverpool are risk of losing any of their goalkeepers this summer, it’s Caoimhin Kelleher. They should now turn their attention on him and try to retain the player since Alisson can’t be counted on to stay fit.
