Barcelona star makes his feelings clear on potential Liverpool switch
Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde has constantly been surrounded by talk suggesting a move to Liverpool. However, much to the Anfield crowd’s disappointment the 20-year-old has made his feelings clear regarding a move away from Barca.
Balde replied to the comment of a fan on social media to make his feelings known. The fan asked him to come to Liverpool in the summer and the 20-year-old gave a very clear answer suggesting there was no way he would be leaving Barcelona in the summer.
Balde has the potential to be a world-class player in the future. Last season he made 44 appearances for the Catalan side recording a goal and six assists. The 20-year-old has excellent pace and can leave most defenders in the dust making him a threat in the final third.
Balde is also excellent at tracking back on defence and played a major role in Barcelona’s La Liga run last season. This season he had to deal with a ruptured tendon which led to him missing out on most of the season.
Barca sure missed him as they failed to defend their title this season. However, Hansi Flick has taken over, and if his reputation indicates he’ll be able to help the team’s injury-prone players play more games next season.
So the Catalan side could possibly get a rejuvenated Balde next season. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like any amount of money will help Liverpool steal the 20-year-old away from Barcelona. It’s a shame since the Spanish defender would’ve been an excellent addition to the Reds.
