The Reds could be signing a goalscoring machine thanks to Arne Slot

As reported by Spanish outlet TV Azteca, Santiago Gimenez is keen for a move to the Premier League and Liverpool have emerged as a destination for the 23-year-old. Gimenez is a goalscoring machine and has recorded 26 this season in just 41 appearances.

Gimenez has also recorded eight assists making it 34 goal contributions this season. With a player of his caliber, the Reds could achieve great things under Arne Slot. Since Slot was the one who helped the 23-year-old reach this level at Feyenoord, he could also be the one who ends up bringing him to the Premier League.

However, the Reds aren’t the only team looking forward to signing Gimenez. Tottenham, Leeds United and Southampton are also interested in coming to an agreement with the 23-year-old Mexican striker.

Despite the interest from other clubs, Arne Slot’s influence should help Liverpool land a deal for Gimenez if he decides to come to the Premier League this summer. It is worth noting that the 23-year-old still has three years left on his contract.

Due to the amount of year’s on the Mexicans’ contract, Feyenoord are in a strong position to negotiate. They’ve already lost their manager to Liverpool, chances are they won’t be willing to lose their star player as well. It could end up being too big of an ask from the Dutch side.

However, ultimately things will come down to Gimenez. If he wants to leave the Premier League this summer he will, as things stand all signs indicate that Liverpool are in the driving seat to bring him to England.

Gimenez would be a terrific pickup for Liverpool this summer.
