Liverpool are losing out on summer target to PL rivals Chelsea

As reported by The Telegraph, Liverpool target, Tosin Adarabioyo is edging loser to a move to Chelsea. The Premier League defender is all set to become a free agent when his contract with Fulham expires at the end of the month.

Adarabioyo is a solid defender so getting him on a free transfer was part of the plan for a number of Premier League clubs. However, it seems like the Blues have them all beat and will be putting the English defender’s skills on display at Stamford Bridge next season.

This will surely come as a sting to Liverpool, they are always looking to get the most financially relaxed deal they can but unfortunately, Chelsea beat them to the punch this time. Now the Reds must go into their pockets as they try and bring reinforcement to defence for next season.

However, their troubles don’t end there. Liverpool also need to sign a more reliable forward this summer. A lot of their strongest players were not composed in front of goal last season and it cost the team majorly. So, a signing for attack is a must.

Last but not least, the Reds also need to refresh their depth in the middle. The team has had to deal with a lot of injuries last season and Jurgen Klopp had to depend on the youngsters to field a full lineup. This cannot happen again if the team wants consistent results.

Since there are so many signings to be made this summer, losing out on Tosin Adarabioyo will surely sting a little. If Liverpool had gotten him instead of Chelsea, they could have reinvested that money to sign a better player in a different position.
