Barcelona wants the sale of their forward Raphinha to fund their priority signing of Liverpool forward Luis Diaz this summer
Liverpool star Luis Diaz is a transfer target for Barcelona as they attempt to sell Raphinha to fund the deal. Diaz played a pivotal role for the Reds last season under legendary manager Jurgen Klopp, deploying regularly as a left-winger.
Barcelona are facing constant financial issues as they need to sell players before they can buy someone like Diaz. Despite the fantastic performance from Raphihna, memorably against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-final, he is available for sale.
The 27-year-old faced criticism from a small section of the fanbase for his lack of productivity despite the obvious influence. Diaz also possesses the fluidity like his other attacking teammate at Liverpool, capable of playing in both flanks and centrally.
Diaz has enjoyed adoration from the Liverpool fanbase but he has struggled with the language barrier during his time at the club. The Colombia international made 51 appearances in all competitions last season for the Reds, contributing 13 goals and five assists.
According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona sporting director Deco wants Diaz as they target a left-winger during the summer. Their star forward Raphinha has attracted interest from several clubs with a potential of high-value sale to fund Diaz.
The Colombian’s father also sparked a potential sale to Barcelona after he revealed Diaz’s affection for the Spanish giant. Liverpool have Cody Gakpo as the natural left-winger and the Dutchman thrived during the latter stages of the last season.

The Reds will play in a new tactical system under head coach Arne Slot as the new era begins. Slot would have a say in any potential arrival and departure as Liverpool search for a wide attacker.
Liverpool will let Diaz join Barcelona if the price is right, and the player desires to leave the club. Fans would also understand the 27-year-old’s decision during this transition period and the visible issue with the language barrier.
