FC Midtjylland attacking sensation Dario Osorio linked with a move to Anfield
According to a report from South American outlet La Tercera, Liverpool are interested in signing FC Midtjylland attacking sensation Dario Osorio.
The Chile international, 20, has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the last couple of years. Having come up the ranks at Club Universidad de Chile, the attacker impressed for the senior side and was snapped up by FC Midtjylland last summer.
After a slow start to life in Denmark, Dario Osorio got to grips and featured in 24 games, contributing towards eight goals and two assists as FC Midtjylland won the league title.
Impressed by his performances for the Danish side, La Tercera claims Liverpool are preparing an offer in the region of $ 8m-$10m (£6.3m-£7.9m) for the prodigious South American talent, plus a further percentage of his transfer.
Ove Pedersen, FC Midtjylland’s deputy sporting director, hasn’t denied that there is interest in Dario Osorio but he stayed coy on links with Liverpool or any prospective bid.
“You will understand that we cannot comment on possible offers for our players. We cannot advance anything. Simply put, this is not the way we work,” Ove Pedersen was quoted in a report by La Tercera.
“I can only tell you that Darío Osorio is a great player and has had a great season.”
Liverpool aren’t the only club interested in the services of the 20-year-old. Ligue 1 side Marseille are also keeping track of his progress. Despite turning just 20 in January, Osorio has already earned eight caps for Chile and has been included in Ricardo Gareca’s provisional squad for the upcoming Copa America.
There is a lot of buzz around Osorio as he could enjoy a breakout Copa America tournament with Chile in the USA. Capable of playing on either flank, the Chile international was also used centrally as a no.10 by Midtjylland manager Middle Jutland, and such versatility could be of huge attraction for Liverpool.

The Reds are seemingly in the market for attacking reinforcements, as new manager Arne Slot looks to put a stamp on the squad inherited by Jurgen Klopp. With Mohamed Salah’s future up in the air amid fresh interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray, the club could bring in Osorio as his potential long-term replacement.
For all his promise, though, Osorio is likely to be a squad rotational option at best if Liverpool were to acquire his services in the upcoming transfer window.
