Liverpool are ready to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United during the summer transfer window to bolster their attack. The 24-year-old has played an important role for the Hammers since joining them from Ajax in the summer of 2023.

West Ham have collectively struggled to perform and endured a disastrous campaign, currently in 17th place in the Premier League. Kudus suffered with inconsistencies due to his teammates’ inability to support him, as other clubs generally dominated the London team.

Standing at 175cm, Kudus has the physical strength, speed and stamina to make impressive carries from any position in attack. The 24-year-old’s dribbling skills and agility are complemented by his technical prowess on the ball, making him a constant threat.

The Ghana international has the versatility to play at any attacking position, according to the requirements of his club’s manager. Kudus has contributed only three goals and three assists from 30 appearances in all competitions for West Ham this season.

Personal inconsistencies and the team’s collective struggle have played a big role in Kudus’s lack of productivity. However, the 24-year-old has displayed glimpses of his former form with expectations that he will recover consistency next season.

According to Football Insider, West Ham are ready to accept the offer of around £70 million for Kudus amid interest from Liverpool. The 24-year-old has a £80 million release clause for domestic clubs in his contract, but the Hammers are willing to lower their demand.

However, it is very unlikely that Liverpool will spend such a massive amount on someone who struggled with contributions. Despite Kudus’s qualities, Liverpool needs players who could do a far better job than the players they already possess.

After all, the likes of Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota also possess a lot of quality but face uncertainty. Their poor contributions have played a big role in Liverpool’s downfall in every cup competition this season.

While Kudus remain an interesting target, Liverpool would demand a more reasonable price, given their preference to act according to the team’s necessity. At the same time, the Reds could opt to make a shrewd signing that has worked well for them before.
