Nicolo Barella

Nicolo Barella is open to a move to the Premier League with Liverpool interested in the 21-year-old, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Football.london).

The Reds face a huge battle for the signature of the midfielder as Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, AS Roma, Manchester United and Arsenal are all interested, as per the report.

The 21-year-old played for the national side in their recent games against Poland and Ukraine and has been one of the rising stars in the Serie A over the past seasons.

The Italian opened up about a number of offers for him but he was happy to stay at Cagliari. Barella was speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Football.london) and was quoted as saying:

“Cagliari has received offers and rejected them.

“I am glad that I am still playing for the club that I am a supporter of. I feel at home here.

“In consultation with the chairman, we have chosen to ignore the proposals.

“I have not even considered them, Cagliari has always been my first choice.”

However, the youngster was willing to choose the Premier League over the Serie A.

“If I had to choose between the Serie A and the Premier League, I would go for England because I love the way they approach the game.

“Plus everyone there is just as irritable and prone to fouls as me!”

The report adds that the player could be worth more than €50million, but a move in the winter window looks unlikely given the club do not want to sell their star midway through the season.
