Liverpool came off easy victors over Cardiff City at Anfield. The Reds scored four past the Bluebirds but did concede their first goal at Anfield in this Premier League season in the win.
The three points lifted us to the top of the table, but it is very tight between five clubs. Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and the Reds are separated by just two points.
Should City lose against Spurs on Monday, they could end this week’s round of matches in the fifth spot having started it in the first place.
Jurgen Klopp was asked if going to the top of the Premier League was important, and he was quoted by the Mirror as saying:
“Not really. But the number of points makes a massive difference.
“The difference between 23 and 26 feels like 20 points, but it is only three.
“It is unbelievable that five clubs have such a big number of points. It makes it more intense, good for the people and the supporters of the clubs. For us it is just the next step. But at least now we have time to recover.”
Liverpool had a daunting run in last month when we played Tottenham, Manchester City, Chelsea, PSG and Napoli.
Things got easier after the City game and we haven’t skipped a beat. We beat Huddersfield, Red Star and now Cardiff but our next Premier League game is tough.
Arsenal are in great form at the moment and we play the Gunners at the Emirates.
